Federal Regulations
- Guardrails: Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, SOR/86-304, Section 12.07 - Guardrails are required where there is a risk of falling 3 meters or more [1].
- Roof Anchors: Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, SOR/86-304, Section 12.10 - Roof anchors must be capable of supporting at least 22.2 kN [1].
- Fall Protection Systems: Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, SOR/86-304, Section 12.01 - Fall protection systems are required when working at heights of 3 meters or more [1].
- Platforms: Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, SOR/86-304, Section 12.08 - Platforms must have guardrails if they are more than 3 meters above the ground [1].
British Columbia Regulations
- Guardrails: British Columbia Building Code (BCBC) Section 9.8.8.1 - Guardrails are required on any walking surface more than 600 mm above the adjacent surface.
- Roof Anchors: OHSR Section 11.6 - Roof anchors must be designed to withstand a load of 22.2 kN.
- Fall Protection Systems: BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) Part 11 - Fall protection is required when working at heights of 3 meters or more.
- Platforms: OHSR Section 11.7 - Platforms must have guardrails if they are more than 1.2 meters above the ground.
