The Exposure Photography Festival is a city-wide cultural event that cultivates participation and dialogue across photographic communities. Bringing together photographers, curators, art professionals, and the public, the festival transforms urban spaces into accessible exhibition environments.
For the 2026 festival in Alberta, organizers envisioned an outdoor walking exhibition featuring photography installations throughout Calgary. To bring this vision to life, they partnered with Kee Safety to design and supply durable, modular display structures capable of performing in demanding winter conditions.
“We needed structures that could be easily disassembled, stored, and reconfigured for future designs. Kee Klamp gave us that flexibility while meeting safety standards.”
Developing an outdoor exhibition in Calgary presented unique structural and environmental challenges. The display systems needed to:
Traditional custom fabrication options would have significantly increased costs and reduced flexibility. The organizers required a solution that balanced safety, durability, adaptability, and cost efficiency — without compromising their creative vision.
Kee Safety supplied a modular framework built using the Kee Klamp system.
The hot-dip galvanized fittings provided superior corrosion resistance, making them ideal for prolonged outdoor exposure during Alberta’s winter season. Additionally, Kee Safety’s published engineering specifications and established reputation in safety-critical industries gave organizers the confidence to meet municipal compliance requirements while ensuring public safety.
“Because the solution was so cost-effective and durable, we were able to build 12 structures instead of the 6 we originally planned. They are incredibly stable and look fantastic.”
The Kee Klamp system delivered measurable value:
By choosing a modular pipe-and-clamp system over custom fabrication, the festival maximized both budget efficiency and creative freedom.
By combining engineering-grade safety standards with modular adaptability, Kee Safety provided a solution that successfully supported a city-wide outdoor photography exhibition in Calgary. The ability to cite published safety specifications helped ensure compliance with municipal standards, while the durability and cost-efficiency of the Kee Klamp system allowed the festival to expand its creative scope beyond initial expectations.
The result was a safe, visually striking, and scalable structural solution that will continue to serve future exhibitions across Alberta.
In 1934, we invented Kee Klamp® tubular fittings for use in the agriculture industry. Following the development of these simple safety barrier systems, many other uses were found.
