Supporting Wildlife Rehabilitation: Empowering Care Through Community Action

Name: Toronto Wildlife Centre

Location: Toronto, ON

Date: April to October 2025

About the Institution: Toronto Wildlife Centre is a registered charity (charitable registration number: 14114 6290 RR0001) and a licensed wildlife rehabilitation hospital specializing in rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife throughout the Greater Toronto Area. As a non-profit organization, TWC relies heavily on volunteers to assist in almost every level of operation, including the majority of the centre’s wild animal care needs.

Supporting Wildlife Rehabilitation

At Kee Safety, we believe that building safer environments extends beyond the workplace—it’s also about supporting the communities and ecosystems around us. That’s why we’re proud to highlight our recent support of the Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC), a leading organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife.

Making a Difference Through Volunteer Work

As part of this initiative, a Kee Safety team member, Tania Herrera, volunteered as a nursing assistant, providing direct care to orphaned squirrels rescued by the centre. This role involved feeding baby squirrels both formula and solid food, ensuring they received the proper nutrition and support needed to grow strong enough to eventually feed themselves and return to the wild.

This hands-on experience highlights the vital role that compassionate care and consistent support play in wildlife rehabilitation.

Supporting Through Giving

In addition to volunteer efforts, Kee Safety made a financial donation to support the Toronto Wildlife Centre’s ongoing work. This contribution helps provide essential resources for animal care, medical treatment, and rehabilitation programs.

Looking Ahead

At Kee Safety, we are committed to supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference—whether that’s improving safety in the workplace or contributing to the well-being of our communities and environment. Our partnership with the Toronto Wildlife Centre reflects this commitment, and we look forward to continuing to support impactful organizations like TWC in the future.
