Post-Fall Rescue Training AB

Designed for personnel already experienced with working at height and fall protection, this specialized course equips you with the essential skills, knowledge, and competence to execute a safe rescue after a fall. Learn to rescue operatives suspended by lanyards using pre-packed rescue equipment while ensuring rapid and effective casualty management.

Training:

  • Theoretical Training covers relevant legislation, roles and responsibilities, anchors, equipment inspections, rescue equipment, suspension intolerance, and casualty management.
  • Practical Training: covers the selection of anchor points, use of the rescue equipment, rescuer's fall protection, casualty management and equipment check.

On successful completion of both theoretical and practical assessments, you will be certified in high-altitude rescue operations, enhancing your professional competence and safety credentials.

Ideal for:

  • Working at height operatives or any person using fall protection equipment.

Learning outcomes

The course will cover installation and use of rescue equipment and provide the students with an understanding of why rescue procedures are needed, and how to plan for and successfully complete a rescue.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Age of 18 years. Candidates need to be physically fit and free from any disability or medical condition that may prevent them from working safely. A self-certified statement of reasonable fitness. Have already completed a working at height training course.

Course Content

Course Aims

To provide an overview of the legal requirements for working at height rescue, carry out pre-use checks on equipment, to use rescue equipment correctly and to carry out a rescue using the specified rescue equipment.

 

Course Objectives 

  • Explain the legal requirements relating to working at height & Rescue
  • Explain the hierarchy of controls under the working at height
  • Identify the PFPE equipment and equipment required to carry out a rescue 
  • Carry out a rescue using specified rescue equipment.
  • Discuss and review recertification and training.
